Mohammad Tabesh

For this work, I developed a series of bronze sculptures entitled Where I Come From. Each object is titled after the series followed by a number. Using a combination of digital and analog techniques, I altered my bodily impressions to create 3D scans, 3D prints, and casted the objects in bronze. The resulting objects are both bodily and erotic, resembling topographical maps that reflect the complex relationship between the body and the land. The titles of the objects in this series invite the viewer to reflect on their own origins and the various ways in which they are connected to the world around them.
